Four Seasons Allotments Lands £7,000 to Build a Sustainable Future

Four Seasons Allotments in Heysham is delighted to announce we have been awarded a £7,000 grant from the OnPath Heysham South Wind Farm Community Fund. It will drive forward our Project Self-Sufficiency. This funding will transform a donated shed and polytunnel into a robust, off-grid hub for sustainable gardening and community engagement.

The shed will be upgraded with solar power to support year-round workshops and storage, while the polytunnel will gain structural enhancements and an irrigation system using harvested rainwater. Levelling the surrounding ground will ensure accessibility for all, from beginners to experienced growers. These improvements will empower our 30 raised beds, boost plant propagation, and allow us to run community events, serving hundreds across Heysham, Morecambe, and nearby villages.

This project is a bold step toward our goal of making Four Seasons a thriving centre for sustainable food production, skill-sharing, and community connection.
